Swim Safe Forever #FloatChallenge
#FloatChallenge
The ability to rollback and float is one of the many layers of protection that can save your life in an aquatic emergency. Infants as young as 6 months old can learn to rollback and float!

About This Project:

I decided a few years ago that I was going to do whatever it takes to make sure no more children die from drowning...
Project Description
SSF challenges you to take the #FloatChallenge
You can wait to be challenged, or you can take the challenge yourself and then challenge 3 others! Take the challenge, or donate today (or both!) visit www.SwimSafeForever.org
All you have to do is take a video of yourself "I accept the Float Challenge, floating is so easy, I can even do it in my ____" You fill in the blank...maybe it's your work uniform, your prom dress, your favorite ballerina tutu? And give us a drowning prevention tip if you can.
The point is this: 70% of children younger than 5 years were not expected to be at or in the pool at the time of a drowning incident.* Meaning, they became victims of drowning during non-swimming times, and they entered the water fully clothed.
What else can we do? A lot... we can start by sharing the knowledge about layers of protection to prevent drowning and change our verbiage to recognize that childhood drowning is an epidemic. With this challenge we hope to illustrate that learning how to rollback and float independently, and in clothes, can save a life.
Even the AAP agrees...check our their 2019 Policy statement "High-quality swim lessons provide more experiential training, including swimming in clothes, in life jackets, falling in, and practicing self-rescue."
