About Us

The American Space Museum started as U.S. Space Walk of Fame Foundation. Through work and dedication, the foundation has completed four distinct monuments, which began in July 1994, with a new riverfront park named Space View Park being built, providing the anchor point for the U.S. Space Walk of Fame. Space View Park honors the space program with monuments, mission plaques, and bronze hand prints of many astronauts, including six of the original seven astronauts.

The American Space Museum started as the US Space Walk of Fame Foundation. Through hard work and determination, the foundation completed four monuments, beginning in July 2004 with a new riverfront park called Space View Park which provides the anchor point for the US Space Walk of Fame. Space View Park honors the space program with monuments, mission plaques and bronze hand prints of many astronauts, including six of the original seven astronauts.

In 2001, the foundation created the U.S. Space Walk of Fame Museum, which, in October 2016, was renamed the American Space Museum.

The American Space Museum is now located in Historical Titusville, off of US Highway 1 southbound. Our many items and displays have been donated by individuals, astronauts, space workers, NASA, and space company contractors involved in the programs throughout its history. The museum has working consoles from the Space Shuttle Firing Rooms and from Atlas Launch Pad 36A, as well as a Model 4 Sequencer from Launch Pad 16, and many other items of historical interest.
